A band of friends reunited, to make an album that almost didn't happen.
After making music together for a decade, Great Grandpa was put on pause as it's members went in different directions. When they reunited, they wrote a fresh crop of songs with a renewed shared vision. Patience, Moonbeam is the Seattle quintet's first release in six years, and it is well worth the wait.
The album is like a quilt, weaving together the lives and stories of the five friends who came together to make it. It's nostalgic and tender, with a warmth present throughout that sees the band confidently self-assured in their sound, making Patience, Moonbeam their best album to date.
We're excited to announce Great Grandpa as part of Rough Trade On The Rise, our dedicated curation putting a spotlight on the emerging music we are the most excited for you to hear, to follow and become a fan of. Read on to discover more about the band in their own words and don't miss the new album Patience, Moonbeam out now on Run For Cover Records.
