Lida Fox (bass), Veronika Vilim (guitar), Chase Lombardo (drums), and Avishag Rodrigues (guitar) are Manhattan's cumgirl8. Originally an art collective, the four-piece signed to 4AD last year, unleashing their debut EP for the label to fervent praise, demonstrated at their electric Rough Trade East release week in-store.
A band whose collective relationship with music was consummated at the beginning of time, it's hard not to marvel at the multi-faceted world cumgirl8 have created, the hyper-styled ensemble stretching their creative boundaries across fashion, print, and digital media. While their immersive 2023 EP left us wanting more, thankfully they've not made us wait long for a follow-up.

Recorded live entirely on analog, debut album The 8th Cumming travels a raw, expressive utopian odyssey entrenched in the band's unapologetic commentary on ecological collapse and the growing dominance of AI. Their cyberfeminist vantage point is set perfectly to an adventurous mix of sonics, rooted in post-punk, but swinging too between gothic allure and retro horror to exhilarating effect.
