Spoken-word poet, producer and truth-teller Joshua Idehen delivers a record which drives raw storytelling with rhythm and uplifting soundscapes.
Joshua Idehen - I Know You’re Hurting, Everyone is Hurting, Everyone is Trying, You Have Got to Try

Who
A British-born Nigerian spoken word artist residing in Sweden, Joshua Idehen first gained recognition through the UK spoken word scene before collaborating with electronic producers and bands, including Sons of Kemet and The Comet Is Coming. Across his solo releases and collaborations, Idehen has developed a reputation for transforming poetry into something immersive, direct and relevant, a self-realised artist ready to establish himself as a mainstay of the British UK jazz/electronic/alternative scene.

What
Intimate yet expansive, I Know You’re Hurting captures the sound of modern overwhelm, an album for today's generation and a powerful statement of hope and collectivism. From the absorbing, politically-driven, manifesto-like viral track Mum Does The Washing, the hypnotic house and call to dance of Everywhere All at Once or the Streets-esque buoyance of You Wanna Dance or What?, I Know You’re Hurting radiates precise production and togetherness, a vibrant introduction to an infectious artistry that will soundtrack your 2026.
