Who
A prodigious alt-rock trio hailing from Hastings, HotWax channel riot grrrl energy with modern grunge musicality, a bright new prospect in the UK's independent scene. Comprised of Hastings-raised founders Tallulah Sim-Savage (vocals and guitar) and Lola Sam (bass) and drummer Alfie Sawyers, the trio formed after meeting at music college in Brighton, and have been bubbling to the forefront of British rock.
What
A debut offering packed with grunge firepower and punk abandon, hotly-tipped three piece HotWax worked with an all-female production team at the prestigious RAK studios, Catherine Marks (Boygenius, Wolf Alice), Steph Marziano (Hayley Williams, Let's Eat Grandma) and Warpaint's Stella Mozgawa to produce their thrilling full length Hot Shock. Written whilst on in the whirlwind of touring, playing support slots for the likes of Royal Blood, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes and The Strokes, the band's anthems are powered by emotion, touching on topics such as young adulthood and vulnerability (Wanna Be Your Doll) and addictive love (One More Reason).
