Who
Dottie Cockram (vocals, guitar), Ben Easton (guitar) and Harry Catchpole (drums) are Deary, a London-based dreampop three-piece formed in lockdown as a remote but collaborative project.
What
A collection of 11 tracks that run the gamut, from ocean-deep shoegaze riffs to cloud-light sprinkles of ethereal indie. Deary's debut Birding is the sound of a band who have definitively found their groove. Whilst the immersive, drifting nature of Alma is reminiscent of pure shoegaze influences, the clearer melody of Seabird showcases the band's indie-pop sensibilities, allowing the songwriting to shimmer as much as the guitars.
