Rough Trade Berlin is Moving!

Rough Trade Berlin will open the doors to a reimagined store at Kalle Neukölln on 1st September 2026, bringing its record store and warehouse together under one roof.

After more than two years on Karl-Marx-Straße, Rough Trade Berlin is moving to a new home on Ganghoferstraße, just around the block from its existing location. The Karl-Marx-Straße store will close its doors on Thursday 27th August, with the new Rough Trade Berlin opening on Tuesday 1st September.

Since arriving in Berlin in 2024, Rough Trade has established itself as a destination for the city’s music community, welcoming fans, artists and labels through its doors for a packed programme of live performances, signings, DJ sets and listening parties, alongside its extensive selection of new and independent music.

The Karl-Marx-Straße store has played host to a Romance listening party for Fontaines D.C., an album signing with Bleachers, live performances from Wunderhorse and Peaches, DJ sets from Hot Chip and Arlo Parks, and a midnight Boards of Canada listening party. The store also celebrated Record Store Day across 2024, 2025 and 2026, bringing Berlin’s record-buying community together for three editions of independent music’s biggest day. Most recently, fans gathered at the store for a Phoebe Bridgers midnight listening party in August 2026, marking the release of the American singer-songwriter’s third album, Lost Weekend.

The move builds on everything Rough Trade has learned from its first two and a half years in the city. Having established the store as a destination in its own right, the new location brings Rough Trade Berlin’s retail and warehouse operations together at Kalle Neukölln, creating a more integrated space for customers, artists and partners.

At its heart will be a purpose-built stage, allowing Rough Trade to further develop its programme of live performances and artist events. An improved store layout will offer a better browsing and shopping experience, while a prominent glass storefront will give Rough Trade a stronger presence within the neighbourhood and create new opportunities for artist, label and brand collaborations. First and foremost, the new space remains a record store, with a broad selection of new releases and classic favourites on vinyl spanning genres, alongside books and a carefully selected range of recommended hi-fi.

The new store will continue to feature a dedicated bar, creating a welcoming setting for music fans. A high-end Cambridge Audio sound system and stage backline powered by Marshall will further enhance the in-store and event experience.

“When we opened Rough Trade Berlin two and a half years ago, Karl-Marx-Straße, Kalle Halle and Neukölln welcomed us with open arms. Since then, the store has grown into a real destination for music fans, artists and labels in Berlin and beyond. We’re incredibly excited to begin the next chapter around the block at the corner of Donaustrasse and Ganghofer Strasse of Kalle Neukölln, bringing our store and warehouse together under one roof. The new space will give us even more opportunities to create memorable experiences for our customers, artists and partners — while keeping us firmly rooted in the neighbourhood we now call home.”

Opening 1st September

The new Rough Trade Berlin opens on Tuesday 1st September 2026. Opening day will also mark the first opportunity to shop the Rough Trade 50th Drop 4 (2006–2015) limited edition vinyl collection in-store, featuring sought-after releases from Radiohead, Tame Impala, The xx, Bon Iver, Nick Cave and more, as Rough Trade continues its year-long celebration of 50 years as an independent record store.

A full opening celebration will follow on Thursday 8th October, with Dina Summer performing live, alongside DJ sets from Mark Reeder and Local Suicide.

Limited tickets for the opening party are available via DICE.

Dina Summer’s new EP, Children of the Night, follows on 9th October.
