On Friday 16th February 2024, IDLES released their fifth album TANGK. We gave Joe, Adam, Lee, Jon and Bowen a disposable camera to document the day. Here's what developed...
POP POP POP-UP
IDLES brought the new album to life in London with a one-off pop-up store in Old Truman Brewery, just across the way from us at Rough Trade East. Curated specially by Joe and the band, fans enjoyed a day (that ended up extending to a weekend) that boasted exclusive merch, limited edition vinyl, a bespoke photo booth, Marshall audio and suds by our friends at Signature Brew to wash it all down with.
Live at Electric Brixton
At Rough Trade, we're super proud to have been a part of IDLES' story over the years, so this was the cherry on top - a massive release day show at South West London's iconic Electric Brixton. The outspoken Bristol rockers galvanised us totally with BIG, raw energy, rubber stamping their status as one of Britain's very best live bands. Fittingly, it was electric (and there wasn't a dry body in the house).
