Shygirl - SWALLOW!
Released 6th November 2026 on Because
The London artist steps into a new era, balancing big pop moments with a more delicate touch.
Who is Shygirl?
British singer, rapper, DJ, songwriter, and co-founder of the record label and collective NUXXE, Blane Muise, better known as Shygirl, has been on a steady ascent since her early underground club movements, which saw the South London-born artist collaborating with producer Sega Bodega, Arca, and SOPHIE. Following a successful debut in Nymph, a melodic and introspective blend of experimental pop, R&B, and hyperpop, Shygirl has been opening for global icons like Beyoncé and Charli XCX, while continuing collaborations with Lady Gaga, FKA Twigs, and Mura Masa. The hype around Shygirl is real and a testament to her worldbuilding talents, treating music and physical spaces as extensions of one the music's personality, shaped by community and considered concept.
What does SWALLOW! sound like?
Recorded with Karma Kid and Casey MQ, SWALLOW! is a reintroduction that opens up fresh possibilities, bringing indie songwriting and 90s hallmarks into her dynamic electronic world, an album which will mark a step towards more live shows. Thematically, SWALLOW! unravels a coming-of-age moment, the chapter during which Shygirl fell in love, learned more about herself and her impulses. Home to both minimalist and maximalist moments, this is an album of fine balance, from a versatile artist who is able to investigate new genre territories whilst still championing her electronic roots. If you’ve followed Shygirl from the underground to the dancefloor, here’s your sign to hear where she’s headed next.
