Album of the Month - January 2024
SPRINTS - Letter To Self
Energetic and abrasive with driving guitars and spiky punk poetry, SPRINTS mix up a brilliant concoction of gothic-tinged melodies and a driving bass.
Who
A rising Dublin four-piece with emotive hooks and raucous energy. SPRINTS build on classic post-punk elements with a modern outlook, personal and perceptive lyrics crafted by lead singer and co-songwriter Karla Chubb. A highly notable band amongst the promising Irish scene led by the likes of Fontaines D.C., Gilla Band and The Murder Capital, the rising quartet are turning heads for their gritty attitude and ferocity - which stands them in good stead to become a real fixture in today's indie music scene.
What
SPRINTS reveal their debut full-length, a raw, intense, engaging blend of garage and post-punk. Currently previewed by their A Modern Job EP, SPRINTS continue to present an absorbingly honest soundtrack to modern life, with a set of tracks ruminating on anxiety, success, gender, and misogyny. Chubbs guttural vocal style meets motorik grooves and plenty of gothic flair which promises for a dynamic live performance as the band have already proven at numerous festival dates and a support slot with Suede.
